EDS resched­ules its 2021 EDS Lead­er­ship Sum­mit in Las Vegas to August 30 through Sep­tem­ber 2.

Orig­i­nal­ly planned for May at the Mirage Resort, the elec­tron­ics com­po­nents industry’s pre­mier event was last held in 2019.

The EDS Board of Direc­tors has announced today that it will resched­ule its 2021 EDS Lead­er­ship Sum­mit. Pre­vi­ous­ly set to take place in Las Vegas from May 10 – 14, the dates are now set for August 30 – Sep­tem­ber 2. The change in dates also moves the start day to Mon­day rather than the tra­di­tion­al Tues­day kick­off — and runs through Thurs­day, Sep­tem­ber 2. This move will increase the like­li­hood that vac­ci­na­tions and oth­er health and safe­ty pro­to­cols will pro­mote greater con­fi­dence in attend­ing EDS. The Mirage Resort will remain the EDS host­ing venue, as it has been since 2015.

Con­sid­ered the pre­mier annu­al event for the inter­na­tion­al elec­tron­ic com­po­nents indus­try, the EDS Sum­mit typ­i­cal­ly draws over 4,000 exec­u­tives from the world’s lead­ing man­u­fac­tur­ers, dis­trib­u­tors and sales rep­re­sen­ta­tives. EDS is joint­ly spon­sored by the Elec­tron­ic Com­po­nents Indus­try Asso­ci­a­tion (ECIA), the Elec­tron­ics Rep­re­sen­ta­tives Asso­ci­a­tion (ERA) and the Glob­al Elec­tron­ic Dis­trib­u­tors Asso­ci­a­tion (GEDA).

“Many health experts are pre­dict­ing the new Covid-19 vac­cines could be wide­ly avail­able in the U.S by June of next year,” said Wal­ter Tobin, Pres­i­dent of ERA. ​“Reset­ting EDS to the end of August, we believe, will make for a bet­ter and more secure Sum­mit experience.”

David Lof­tus, CEO and Pres­i­dent of ECIA agreed. ​“Noth­ing is more impor­tant to us than the health and well-being of our fel­low indus­try cit­i­zens. We hope and expect this change pro­vides the con­fi­dence for our atten­dees and spon­sors to ful­ly par­tic­i­pate in EDS 2021.”
