EDS has adopt­ed this pri­va­cy pol­i­cy regard­ing the pro­tec­tion of per­son­al data that you share, or which we may acquire, through your inter­ac­tions and busi­ness deal­ings with us. By giv­ing CON­SENT about EDS’s obtain­ing, stor­ing and pro­cess­ing your per­son­al data, you agree to this Pri­va­cy Pol­i­cy. Please read the fol­low­ing pol­i­cy to under­stand how your per­son­al infor­ma­tion will be treat­ed when you use or reg­is­ter on EDS’s web­site and how you con­trol your per­son­al information.

Col­lec­tion and Pro­cess­ing of Per­son­al Data

Per­son­al infor­ma­tion is only stored by EDS when you vol­un­tar­i­ly give that infor­ma­tion to us for a spe­cif­ic pur­pose, such as reg­is­ter­ing for EDS. If you do not pro­vide the request­ed infor­ma­tion, EDS may not be able to per­form or pro­vide the request­ed service.

Use of Per­son­al Data

EDS may use your per­son­al data for the pur­pos­es of or as nec­es­sary for:

• Reg­is­ter­ing for and/​or par­tic­i­pat­ing in an event or meeting
• Com­mu­ni­ca­tions from EDS regard­ing news, ser­vices and events
• Sur­veys and statistics-gathering 
• Enquiries that you sub­mit to EDS
• Your use of edssum​mit​.com includ­ing tech­ni­cal admin­is­tra­tion, reports and oth­er site services. 
• Solic­it­ing com­pa­ny (not indi­vid­ual) par­tic­i­pa­tion, sup­port and sponsorships

EDS may share your per­son­al infor­ma­tion the two spon­sor­ing orga­ni­za­tions — Elec­tron­ic Com­po­nents Indus­try Asso­ci­a­tion (ECIA) and the Elec­tron­ic Rep­re­sen­ta­tives Asso­ci­a­tion (ERA). You may opt-out of EDS’s shar­ing your per­son­al infor­ma­tion with third par­ties by send­ing a request to admin@​ecianow.​org.

Col­lec­tion and Pro­cess­ing of Non-Per­son­al Data

When you vis­it our web­sites, EDS may auto­mat­i­cal­ly col­lect the fol­low­ing non-per­son­al data: IP address­es, the web­site from which you vis­it us, pages viewed, files down­loaded, videos views/​audio tracks lis­tened to, links clicked, search words/​numbers or search phras­es, dura­tion of vis­it, brows­er used, etc. EDS uses Google Ana­lyt­ics to mea­sure web­site access infor­ma­tion. To EDS’s knowl­edge, the data pro­vid­ed by Google Ana­lyt­ics to EDS can­not be traced back to a user.

Use of Exter­nal Links

EDS’s web­site may con­tain links to third-par­ty web­sites oper­at­ed by providers oth­er than EDS. After you click the link, we no longer have any influ­ence over the col­lec­tion, stor­age, or pro­cess­ing of any per­son­al data and such activ­i­ty is beyond our con­trol. There­fore, EDS is not respon­si­ble for the pro­cess­ing of per­son­al data by third parties.

Group Con­sent

You may only give con­sent for your per­son­al infor­ma­tion and can­not give con­sent for oth­er indi­vid­u­als. Each indi­vid­ual must pro­vide con­sent if per­son­al iden­ti­fy­ing infor­ma­tion is pro­vid­ed. As an exam­ple, when reg­is­ter­ing for an EDS event, you may only reg­is­ter your­self and not oth­er indi­vid­u­als from your orga­ni­za­tion. One indi­vid­ual may not del­e­gate giv­ing con­sent or rights (as described below) to anoth­er indi­vid­ual, except when reg­u­la­tions regard­ing parental con­sent apply.

Your Rights Regard­ing Your Per­son­al Information

With regard to your per­son­al data, you have the right to:

• With­draw your con­sent at any time
• Request cor­rec­tion or dele­tion of your per­son­al information
• Have access to your data
• Ask EDS to deliv­er your per­son­al infor­ma­tion to your­self or a third party
• Be informed about sub­stan­tive changes in this policy

Cook­ies

EDS uses cook­ies to enhance the user expe­ri­ence, track vis­i­tors’ pref­er­ences and to func­tion tech­ni­cal­ly. These cook­ies are stored on your com­put­er by the serv­er main­tain­ing and oper­at­ing the web­site. They do not com­pro­mise your pri­va­cy or secu­ri­ty. The cook­ies do not store or col­lect any per­son­al data about you, nor do we link data from cook­ies to any per­son­al data that you might choose to give us.
